As women we are busy. We want to be able to do everything and we have a lot to do. We often strive for perfection. We are hard on ourselves. We often times feel inadequate because we can’t be perfect. But we aren’t perfect. We are humans. At the beginning of each year we strive to be our best, to do our best, to look our best, to feel our best. Are we striving for the impossible? Are we setting ourselves up for failure? We are definitely putting too much pressure on ourselves. None of us are ever going to be perfect. Everyone is different and has different strengths and weaknesses. Don’t compare yourself to others and don’t worry about what others think. Try to stay focused on yourself. What makes you happiest? What makes you healthiest? Prioritize and take one thing at a time. We have to take care of ourselves first or we won’t be able to take care of anyone or anything else. It’s easy for us to set unrealistic goals and then get very discouraged when we don’t meet them. We have to find what works for us. Don’t beat yourself up because you’re tired and you just want to warm up chicken nuggets for dinner. It’s okay. Just try to get the healthiest chicken nuggets you can find and forget it. Don’t be down on yourself for not having thirty minutes to workout. Do what you can. Power walk through the grocery store in heels. Well maybe not if they are killing your feet. The last thing we need is blisters for the next several day. But you get the point. Let’s try to stay focused on what’s really important in life. Of course we all want to be healthy, happy and sexy. But that’s going to look different for all of us. Find what that is for you. Forget the guilt. Don’t look back. Tomorrow is a New Day!
